HBM is thrilled to welcome, Emily Godefroid, as our new Manager, Office Administration.
Will you tell us a little more about your professional background?
I joined Washington University in 2012 as a Coordinator in the Facility Services Department. Before joining Wash U, I worked with American Burglary and Fire as an Account Executive and with Total Lock & Security in Business Development.
What led you to HBM, and what interested you most about our opportunity?
I saw the job description on LinkedIn and found that intriguing, so I did some additional research on HBM and thought it was a really interesting opportunity. The deal was sealed when I interviewed and met the amazing people working here at HBM and I could not be happier to be here.
What will you be focusing on in 2022 as you settle into your role? Any key priorities?
I will focus on ensuring the smooth operations of our HBM office, including Accounting/Payroll, Human Resources, Board Support, and Office Management.
When you are not at work how do you spend your free time?
Woodworking. I love to refinish wood furniture and I have a special affinity for working on MCM (midcentury modern) pieces. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing a worn piece of furniture bought back to life.
Over the pandemic I got into making my own soy wax candles. It’s a mess but my whole house smells amazing when I have the “candle shop” open.
I love interior design and my favorite design projects are working on Airbnbs. I just completed the design work for an Airbnb with the theme of relaxation, its title is “Zen Den.”
