HBM Participates In Panel Discussion Sponsored by Emory University

There were various schools of thought on each of the topics discussed, but one thing that all panel participants agreed upon is that private equity competition continues to expand and touches on all factors relevant in the sector.

Late last year,  Ryan Supple, Manager of Deal Origination for HBM, participated on a panel discussion at Emory University Goizueta Business School to discuss all things relevant to private equity.

Many topics were discussed that evening including competitiveness in the private equity space from a deal origination and fundraising perspective, differentiators of various private equity models and what it takes to build a career in private equity.

Although there were divergent opinions on the various topics, one thing that all panel participants agreed upon is that private equity is highly competitive in all facets and such competition is only building with time.

Ryan’s viewpoint on building a career in private equity centered on being willing to work hard and to accept being in a situation of constant learning and challenge.  However, it is also highly rewarding on many levels.

Ryan was joined on the panel with professionals from Georgia Oak Partners, AKKR, BLH Venture Partners, Eagle Merchant Partners, BlueArc Capital Management, and MSOUTH Equity Partners.

As part of HBM Holding’s commitment to career development, the firm frequently participates on panel discussions, similar to the one sponsored by Emory University, to provide their thoughts and expertise on the private equity space.
