At HBM, and across our operating companies, we are committed to supporting the communities where we live and work.
Last week, HBM employees spent their time volunteering at the St. Louis Area Foodbank. The team packed over 750 boxes that will be delivered to over 500 local agencies – including seniors who need supplemental food staples.
Currently, 1 in 7 US seniors live in poverty and this federally funded program prevents many seniors from having to choose between paying for food or other necessities, such as medicine or utilities.
One of HBM’s core values is community engagement and this service day is one small way to show we care about our local community. Of course, the team had some fun, too. The Corporate Development, Finance and HR teams all worked on making, packing and loading boxes while singing along to the music that played. Our CFO, Don Roberts, got to put his auditing skills to use by doing the final QA check, which kept us all on our toes.
The St. Louis Area Foodbank packages more than 12,800 boxes of food annually. HBM is thankful for the opportunity to be a small part of the big impact that St. Louis Area Foodbank has on those in our community.
