Last month, HBM brought together our enterprise-wide finance teams for two days of learning, networking and fun. This year the team met in St. Louis, MO where they focused on the following:
• Operating Company Business & Strategy Overviews
• Lessons learned throughout Pandemic (Remote Work, Supply Chain, and Labor)
• Best Practice sharing on Annual Operating Plans and Forecasting
• Cybersecurity & IT Updates
Don Roberts, SVP & CFO at HBM opened the conference where he emphasized the theme of the conference is for everyone to “Have fun, be safe and to learn something new.” Team members participated in both learning-focused and fun team events. Attendees had the opportunity to learn something new as they heard more about each operating company during a review of their business and a strategic plan. Additionally, the finance team members broke out into cross-company teams to share best practices on annual operating plans, forecasting, and lessons learned throughout the pandemic. The fun part of the agenda took shape with a trip to Busch Stadium to take in a Cardinal’s baseball game, Budweiser Brewery Tour, and a visit to the Jewel Box in Forest Park. Finally, the conference wrapped up with a day trip to Ste. Genevieve, MO where the team had a chance to tour the surface operations and underground mine and learn more about the day-to-day operations at Mississippi Lime Company.
