This month, the team at one of our portfolio companies, Delavau, rallied together to organize a food drive for the St. Vincent De Paul Society in Pennsylvania.
The St. Vincent De Paul Society is one of the oldest and most successful charitable organizations in the world with over 700,000 volunteers seeking to provide aid to the poor on a global basis.
The team worked together to collect both food and monetary donations to provide a week’s worth of groceries to 50 local families. The need for food donations is exacerbated at this time of year as children are out of school and therefore families do not benefit from school meal subsidy programs.
Joy Ezekiel-Gibson, who spearheaded the food donation efforts on behalf of Delavau, lives by the adage, “Let’s make today better than yesterday, knowing tomorrow will be better than today.”
